What is the Experience?
Visitors at the Central Public Library can expect a different experience other than the regular book reading and borrowing through an interactive AR experience.
As you enter the Central Public Library, you will notice the large illustrated mural showcasing Singapore’s landmarks. A promotional standee near the mural invites all to take on a challenge using Augmented Reality (AR) and provides instructions on how to participate, including downloading the NLB Mobile App.
Upon scanning the ZapCode, you will be able to start the AR experience. Point your phone at different landmarks to uncover historical information, images, and stories.
To provide visitors with a unique digital experience that showcases Singapore’s historical landmarks.
Through the use of a large, intricately illustrated mural wall that showcasing Singapore’s rich history, visitors can utilise the NLB mobile app to scan elements on the mural using ZapCode or an AR button to reveal hidden stories behind landmarks.
This AR experience categorizes content into themes like Bygone Landmarks and Places of Worship, encouraging exploration of Singapore’s heritage. Completing AR-based challenges and uncovering more landmarks incentivizes visitors to engage deeply with local history.
