Members of the public worked up a sweat with Pikachu, the iconic and loveable character from Pokémon, as they participated in various short workouts that were aligned to the National Steps Challenge. In this joint collaboration between Trinax and the Health Promotion Board, an interactive vending machine was installed at different shopping malls in Singapore with the aim of promoting a healthier lifestyle among shoppers.
What is the Experience?
To facilitate and promote the nationwide initiative, the interactive vending machine offers an opportunity for participants to rack up those points. Passers-by could engage in simple exercises that were carried out conveniently such as marching on the spot and jabbing punches in the air. At the end of each activity, prizes were also dispensed as reward for their efforts and participation.
This was in line with the campaign organised by the Health Promotion Board to encourage shoppers and Singaporeans in general to be more active in their daily lives.
An interactive screen responds upon touch, and users could choose from a range of physical activities according to their different moods as depicted by Pikachu. For example, players who were feeling sleepy could select a tired-looking Pikachu. Each mood represents a different form of exercise and upon completion, a prize will be automatically dispensed through the vending machine.
