An eye-catching interactive projection rock-climbing wall that featured an exciting game suitable for people of all ages. Through this fun and appealing installation, IMDA strove to educate the public on the importance of cyber security.
What is the Experience?
A traditional rock climbing wall with an added twist. Instead of having the goal to be reaching the top, IMDA Interactive Projection’s goal was to defeat viruses. In this game, viruses were overlaid onto the rock wall and players are tasked to touch the area where the viruses are, thus killing the virus and earning them points.
What is the Objective?
The viruses on the wall represent internet viruses that our personal computers and laptops may contract. IMDA’s work in Singapore relates to information communication through media platforms and it wanted to create awareness among citizens on computer viruses and how to guard against them.
Projectors with infrared capabilities are able to detect movement within its projected view. These movements can be used in a variety of methods such as an interactive rock climbing game. The program focuses on following the movements of the player’s hands and legs and creates a marker that tracks those body parts. If the marker collides with the in-game virus, the virus dies and points are awarded.
