From investors to CEOs, OCBC celebrates CNY with an exquisite banquet and a microsite activity for guests to present their well-wishes. The wishes are embedded onto digital lanterns that will gather at the end of the event – viewed as the grand finale to the gala dinner.

What is the Experience?

On each table rests a QR code for diners to scan with smartphones where a microsite is revealed. Through this media platform, users may design their own lanterns by choosing from a range of decorative patterns and input personal wishes. 

The lanterns gather during the closing ceremony and disperse into the night sky, digitally projected for all to witness. This activity also allows diners to find and observe their own personalised lantern as it floats into the starry sky.

What is the Objective?

To usher in the Lunar New Year with auspicious well-wishes, modernised through interactive technology and a gorgeous display of personalised lanterns.

How Does It Work?

Scanning the QR code will open a microsite that is accessible through mobile browsers, meaning that users need not download an app to participate. 

The microsite allows users to swipe and choose from a number of unique patterns to decorate their lantern. A list of well-wishes can be explored afterwards, followed by a page to type in their given name or company name. 

The lanterns are saved on a database and will reappear during the final moments of the event; where the guest of honour will hit a massive gong to release every submitted lantern on a giant projector screen – located on the main stage.
