A self-service cosmetics sampling machine to enable shoppers to get prescriptive samples based on their skin condition analysed by an Artificial Intelligence system.

What is the Experience?

Starting from August 2022, shoppers at Sephora’s outlets at ION Orchard and Nex shopping mall (both in Singapore) will be able to experience a cutting-edge sampling machine that provides smart recommendation that best matches with the shopper’s skin condition.
What is the Objective?
This smart sampling machine uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology and gamification to elevate the retail experience, and assists the shoppers to decide on the most personalised and suitable foundation.
How Does It Work?

Upon approaching the sampling machine, the shopper will be prompted to stand within the detection area and the system will start analysing the skin condition.

When the analysis is completed, the recommendation will appear on the screen and a light indicator will be lilt-up to direct shopper to collect the respective sample. Shoppers are able to collect the sample with sampling bottles provided or try it instantly by placing their hand under the dispenser.
